State Budget Update
At the end of May, the Pennsylvania General Assembly passed a $25.8 billion short-term budget agreement for fiscal year 2020-2021 (PA post article). This budget does not impact Medicaid eligibility or benefit levels. It maintains current spending levels until November 30th. The Governor and legislature pointed to economic uncertainties (e.g. coronavirus shutdowns, reduced tax revenue, and potential for increased federal aid) as the primary reason for the short-term nature of the agreement.
