Announcement From PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE:
17 August 2009
ACAP is accepting applications and enrolling eligible participants in the following counties: Lancaster , Cumberland , and Dauphin.
The Adult Community Autism Program, known as “ACAP” is an innovative new model of Autism services that has been carefully and purposefully crafted to target the unique needs of adults living with Autism.
You must have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder which would include one of the following:
- Autistic Disorder
- Childhood Disintegrative Disorder
- Pervasive Developmental Disability, not otherwise specified
- Asperger Disorder
- Rett Disorder
IQ is not a factor in determining eligibility for ACAP.
Please remember you can now apply without disenrolling from another Home and Community Based Services Waiver . This change in eligibility requirements will allow individuals and families to continue receiving support while moving through the ACAP enrollment process. It is important to note, however, an individual can not receive services from two Medical Assistance home and community based programs at the same time. Therefore, an individual will still be required to disenroll from their current home and community based service program before receiving any services under the ACAP program.
To request an Application call: 1-866-539-7689, Option 3.
Questions regarding ACAP should be directed to 1-866-539-7689, Option 3 or by email to RA-ACAP@state.pa.us or by mail:
